LAS VEGAS AccuBar beverage-management technology is now being used in wine cellar and bar operations at five Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group restaurants here, including Spago and Trattoria del Lupo, supplier representatives said. They added that the Puck team plans to add the system at four restaurants in California and Hawaii.

Produced by G4 Technologies Corp. of Englewood, Colo., AccuBar combines hand-held computing devices with barcode scanners and server-based software to streamline inventory, increase employee accountability and improve analysis and reporting tied to beverage management.

Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group beverage director Tim Wilson said AccuBar's omni-directional barcode reader "makes scanning bottles easier" and its extended search look-up function makes database searches "faster."
