MIAMI LAKES Fla. Shula's Steak Houses LLLP, based here, the company co-founded by football coaching legend Don Shula, is deploying to its 30 franchised restaurants the business intelligence system from Xformity Technologies Inc., vendor sources said.

Dave Shula, SSH president, said the deployment, when complete, would provide his company with "the much needed [data] visibility across all of our locations" and the ability to "make fact-based business decisions." He said Dallas-based XFormity also would work with his company to develop royalty reporting, a mystery shopper report and a "balanced scorecard report."

XFormity will develop interfaces with eight different point-of-sale systems, as part of the agreement with Shula's, and will be collecting data from other sources, as well, the vendor said. The technology company's suite of hosted software and services incorporate multi-unit data polling and integration tools, among others, to support analysis and reporting capabilities that help users improve operations and control losses, representatives said.

Consultancy Auxis Management and Technology Solutions of Coral Gables, Fla., worked with Shula's to define its information and system needs and select Xformity from among interested vendors.
