Hatco Corp. has purchased Ovention Inc., an oven technology company based in Dallas. Ovention owns the rights to the Matchbox Oven, which won a National Restaurant Association Kitchen Innovations Award this year. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hatco said it plans to operate Ovention as an independent subsidiary supported by a team of dedicated individuals, several of whom will transition with Ovention to Hatco as part of the acquisition. Steve Everett Jr., current director of business development, will become general manager of the Ovention business unit.
