DENVER Chipotle Mexican Grill has named DeVito/Verdi of New York as its agency of record. Billings were not disclosed.

The agency replaces TDA Advertising & Design of Boulder, Colo., which handled the account briefly after winning creative duties in April 2006. DeVito/Verdi will handle creative duties and be responsible for national media planning and buying.

“They understand and share our vision that advertising can inform and entertain while also driving business,” said Jim Adams, executive director of marketing for the 670-plus-unit burrito chain.

Chipotle’s print and radio ads, as well as a series of three underwriting spots on PBS, are known for their sharp wit and humor while maintaining a focus on the chain’s “Food with Integrity” positioning.
