Eataly announced Monday the appointment of Tommaso Brusò to the newly created position of CEO of Eataly North America, effective Oct. 2. Brusò joins Eataly from the sustainable Danish clothing brand, Colorful Standard, where he served as CEO.

“Living in New York City for many years, I have always been a big fan of this brand, which represents the extraordinary Italian food experience,” Brusò said in a statement. “Food, together with fashion, are globally recognized as Italian excellences and I believe that my significant experience in the fashion industry will make a strong contribution to taking the Eataly brand to the next level.”

This is the latest executive leadership change announced for the Italian food retail and global restaurant group, after the acquisition of Eataly by U.K.-based investment firm Investindustrial last Septemberfollowing the firm’s €200 million investment to support the future growth of Eataly. The company also announced the appointment of new Group CEO, Andrea Cipolloni last November, followed by subsequent appointments of a new CFO, COO, and Head of HR earlier in 2023.

Eataly currently owns and operates nine stores across eight cities in North America, including its flagship location and Downtown location in New York City. The company plans to add five more stores in the North America region over the next two years, with a long-term growth plan of operating 20 Eataly locations in the region in five years.

“To continue with the Group’s growth in North America we are welcoming an Italian Manager with great experience in the USA like Tommaso Brusò,” Cipollini said in a statement “Given our significant growth ambitions in North America, the CEO North America position is a newly created role. Tommaso arrives at an important time for the Group and will be instrumental to the development and growth of a market of primary importance for Eataly.”
