The Louisiana Restaurant Association named Stan Harris as its president and chief executive this month, succeeding longtime leader Jim Funk, who has retired.

Harris most recently was managing partner of The H Group, a management consultancy and previously served as president of TJM Restaurant Management, which franchised Ruth’s Chris Steak Houses and also operated TJ Ribs, Ninfa’s Mexican Restaurant and Ruffino’s Italian Restaurant units.

Harris oversees a staff of 60 at the Metairie, La.-based LRA, the LRA Self Insurer’s Fund for workers’ compensation and the LRA Education Foundation.

“Returning to my native Louisiana after being in Nashville for three years with my family is exciting and, frankly, where I belong,” Harris said in a statement.

Harris, who will serve as the LRA’s eighth president and CEO, added: “I look forward to continuing the legacy began by Jim Funk, our former president and CEO, during his distinguished 30 years of service.”
