OAK BROOK Ill. McDonald’s plans to roll out Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal toys on Friday based on the wildly popular “American Idol” TV show.

In addition, the chain will conduct a sweepstakes and send two winners to the finale of this season’s show, scheduled for May 22 or 23 in Los Angeles.

The toys include sunglasses called Starry Eyed Shades, an MP3 toy that plays an upbeat song, and a Star Guitar and Popstar Headset that also play music. The Applause-O-Matic features two hands that gives a round of applause, and the Judgmental Mic offers four different comments on musical performances.

The promotion will run through May 10.
