CHICAGO Colleen McShane, who has been president of the Illinois Restaurant Association for 14 years, plans to resign, effective Feb. 5. No reason was given for her resignation.
McShane has led the association through seemingly continuous battles with governmental bodies, especially the Chicago City Council, to thwart government meddling in the restaurant business operations. The association is forming a search committee to seek a replacement.
In the interim, Moira O’Brien, association vice president, will oversee day-to-day operations.
