SAN CLEMENTE Calif. Pick Up Stix on Monday joined the growing ranks of operators in all segments offering value promotions with the launch of a “Buy One Entrée, Get One Free” deal.

The Pick Up Stix offer is available at participating restaurants within the 96-unit fast-casual chain through May 31 and requires the redemption of a coupon that can be found at http://www.pickupstix.com/deals/april08/bogo. The coupon can only be used once per party, per visit. Entrées for the chain range in price from $4.99 to $8.99.

Pick Up Stix is owned by Carlson Restaurants Worldwide Inc., which is also parent to the T.G.I. Friday’s casual-dining chain. Earlier this year, T.G.I. Friday’s launched a “Buy One Entrée, Get One Free” offer that ended March 1. Carlson officials, however, declined to comment on how the earlier promotion impacted restaurant traffic or sales.

Other companies earlier this year have also launched two-for-one promotions designed to drive traffic into stores, including Ruby Tuesday and Marie Callender’s Restaurant & Bakery.
