MT. JULIET Tenn. Sagittarius Brands Wednesday launched the first restaurant to bundle its two quick-service brands, Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen and Del Taco, and intends to follow the location with a second dual-brand outlet in the company’s headquarters city of Nashville, Tenn.
Last year, Sagittarius Brands, whose Captain D’s chain has more than 600 corporate and franchised locations, bought Lake Forest, Calif.-based Del Taco, which has more than 490 units. The goal was to leverage growth for franchisees and the franchisor-owned systems through multibranding, officials said.
Such co-branded units as the one here expand daypart opportunities by marrying a lunch and dinner destination, Captain D’s, with the breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and late-night offerings of Del Taco, which offers Mexican dishes as well as burgers and fries.
The unit in Mt. Juliet is also the first Del Taco in Tennessee.
