MIAMI Areas USA has been awarded a 10-year foodservice contract for the new Indianapolis International Airport, scheduled to open this fall. The contract calls for Areas to operate 10 food and beverage outlets, including two local brands, Giorgio’s Pizza and South Bend Chocolate Company.

Areas, based here, said it may open such other brands as Shula’s 22, Corona Bar and Grill, DiVine, Qdoba, Champps Americana, Cold Stone Creamery, Green Leaf’s and Bananas. The outlets should generate about $12.5 million in sales during the first year, the company said.

Areas said it also has contracts signed for Miami International Airport, Orlando International Airport and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.

Areas, the U.S. division of Barcelona-based Areas, currently operates more than 1,200 foodservice outlets in airports, railway stations and highway rest stops worldwide.
