DALLAS The 400-unit Wingstop chain said it has signed on to be the "Official Wings" of the Dallas Cowboys football team.

Wingstop Restaurants Inc. and the team signed a five-year agreement that gives the chain an exclusive designation for use in advertising materials as well as rights to be the exclusive vendor of chicken wings at stadium events. In addition, Wingstop's sauces will be available in the stadium's luxury suites. The partnership, which was announced Tuesday, begins when Cowboys' new stadium opens later this year

"This partnership is the largest we've ever undertaken because it is such a natural for everyone involved," said Jim Flynn, president and chief executive of Wingstop. "Football and chicken wings are perfect partners and since we are based in Dallas-Fort Worth, it only makes sense."

Former Cowboys quarterback and current Fox sportscaster Troy Aikman has been the Wingstop's spokesman since 2003 and the company's network of franchisees includes current and former NFL players Ron Stone, Willie McGinest and Raheem Brock.
