ATLANTA Church’s Chicken said Thursday it had named Partha Mukherjee its chief information officer, in charge of information technology activities, telecommunications and the quick-service chain’s web-based financial system.

Prior to joining Church’s Chicken, Mukherjee was engagement director at Tech Mahindra, a global information technology and business process outsourcing company with revenue of $1 billion. He started his career at HLC Hewlett Packard in Mumbai, India, as a marketing trainee and has since held positions at Loay Enterprise LLC, HCL Europe Ltd, Covansys and Sonata Software.

“We’re extremely pleased to have Partha Mukherjee on board,” Church’s Chicken chief executive, Harsha Agadi, said in a statement. “With his extensive professional history in outsourcing, I know he will greatly enhance the executive team at Church’s as an expert in information technology.”

Atlanta-based Church’s, which operates or franchises more than 1,600 locations worldwide, said Mukherjee’s appointment was the latest example of hirings that reflect the chain’s commitment to diversity. Church’s says more than 50 percent of its employees are people of color. Mukherjee is from India.

It was unclear at press time whether Mukherjee replaced a former CIO at Church’s.
