Modern loyalty programs are emerging in the restaurant industry as chains look for new ways to offer diners personalized experiences and unexpected perks through their branded app.

Now Grubhub wants a piece of the action.

The Chicago-based third party delivery operator, which has been criticized lately for alleged sneaky business practices that hurt restaurants, has launched its own “Perks loyalty program.

grubhub-perks-app.gifPerks aggregates meal deals and allows restaurants to connect their existing in-house loyalty programs directly onto the Grubhub marketplace, potentially expanding a chain’s ability to gain new members. Just Salad, Honeygrow, Hale & Hearty and Pokeworks are some restaurants already taking advantage of the new service.
