After adding a new line of specialty drinks featuring vegan milks earlier this month, Starbucks shows no sign of slowing their investment in plant-based menu items. During the company’s earnings call for its first quarterly results, ended Dec. 29. 2019, Starbucks announced that they would be introducing a breakfast sandwich with a plant-based patty later in the year.
“We will be introducing a breakfast sandwich this year with a plant-based patty both in U.S. and Canada and the combination of those pairing is significant for us in terms of how we think about what the customer is asking for us to develop,” Starbucks COO Rosalind Brewer said during the call.
Brewer did not give details about the forthcoming menu item.
