Darnel is vertically integrated, partnering with the recycling bottle flake facility that produces the post-consumer material utilized in their RESQ® products. This integration ensures a robust supply chain, allowing them to provide exceptional service to their clients for the RESQ® products they supply. This longevity is not only economically advantageous but also ecologically important, as it significantly reduces the demand for raw material from natural resources.
Also, Darnel’s investment enables them to focus raw material sourcing largely on consumer waste rather than natural resources for RESQ production. This is possible thanks to the work of more than 4,000 waste collectors (recyclers) that work hand in hand with the company to pick up used plastics from consumer recycling waste bins. In exchange, Darnel not only buys this material to a fair price but also have social programs to dignify their work and generate well-being for themselves and their families.
This program has allowed Darnel to recover over 3.8 billion water bottles, guaranteeing their return to the production process through the raw material flake that is use in the new production of their RESQ® products, ensuring a second life for plastics they recover. RESQ® products are 100% recyclable and FDA approved for food contact. Once used, they can be processed and repurposed to create not only new packages but also new products, establishing a closed-loop system that makes the circular economy a reality.
But Darnel`s commitment to sustainability is not only tangible in their products, but also in their way of operating. Darnel`s production facilities are ZERO WASTE GOLD Certified. This exemplifies Darnel’s commitment to the planet, managing all waste derived from the operation and reintroducing it into its own or third-party processes, making the use of resources as efficient as possible and not generating additional operational waste without compromising the quality of the products. Darnel has also invested in production processes that utilize minimal consumption of energy and water as compared to other manufactures. Darnel also produces much of the energy consumed to operate their facilities and have built a robust water reclaim system that enables the cleaning and reuse of water in their processes.
