Another earnings season is behind us, and Nation’s Restaurant News covered 22 companies’ earnings calls, from stalwarts like McDonald’s to Wall Street newcomer CAVA.
Same-store sales broadly increased, which is good news for the industry, but companies also mentioned feeling commodities pressures. Texas Roadhouse, for example, reported a 9% same-store sales increase but said its margins were pressured by beef and labor inflation.
Elsewhere in the industry, Krispy Kreme reaped the benefits of its new omnichannel strategy, Shake Shack and Dutch Bros made changes to their C-suites, and KFC stole the show at Yum Brands.
