This week on the Extra Serving podcast, NRN editors Holly Petre, Sam Oches, and Leigh Anne Zinsmeister spoke about the latest in restaurant earnings.

This week saw several more companies report including Starbucks, Yum Brands, and Chipotle Mexican Grill. The team discussed their main takeaways from the earnings reports and what they have in common.

Next, the team discussed Chick-fil-A’s new plant-based protein. The proprietary menu item is made of cauliflower and was in the test phase for four years. The team discussed what that means for the industry and whether or not plant-based proteins’ time has passed.
