NRN_TOP_200_200x200_wht_20on_20rt.jpgThis is part of the Nation’s Restaurant News annual Top 200 report, a proprietary ranking of the foodservice industry’s largest restaurant chains and parent companies.

What is it? A more casual version of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, Del Frisco’s Grille offers an upscale bar and grill atmosphere with fresh seafood and prime steaks selected from its high-end sister brand Double Eagle. Del Frisco’s Grille also offers an extensive wine list and a stylish, lighter and lively atmosphere. The brand, in its fiscal year under way, has 25 locations, with two more planned for 2018.

Growth drivers: While parent company Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group has announced it will “be more cautious” in growing the brand, it has conducted studies to find what appeals to its upscale diner. DFRG executives have no plans to open any Grilles in 2019 and 2020 while it watches modifications in the newest restaurants — Philadelphia and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — that incorporate findings from a 2017 consulting project on the brand to distinguish it from the Double Eagle, Sullivan’s Steakhouse and the newly acquired Bartaco and Barcelona Wine Bar with the $325 million acquisition of Barteca Restaurant Group in June.

Price point: Sandwiches and entrée menu items range from $19 to $65.

Headquarters: Irving, Texas
