As The Wendy’s Co. celebrates its fourth year of breakfast systemwide, it is adding a Cinnabon Pull-Apart to its morning offerings, the company said Tuesday.

The new item from the Dublin, Ohio-based quick-service brand will debut Feb. 26 at U.S. restaurants and March 18 in Canada, according to John Li, Wendy’s global vice president for culinary innovation, and Eryn Bennett, Wendy’s manager of culinary and product innovation.

The new Cinnabon Pull-Apart will feature warm Danish dough dunked in a glaze, then baked with cinnamon, brown butter, and sugar and served with Cinnabon’s signature cream cheese frosting. Recommended pricing in United States is $3.69, though it varies by location, a spokesperson said.

“We're just really excited to have a sweet bakery option on our menu,” Bennett said. “This really brings some nostalgia and comfort to our breakfast consumer. You take the best part of that familiar favorite cinnamon roll, and we've actually given it a unique Wendy's twist by making it a cinnamon pull-apart.”

Li noted that the collaboration with Cinnabon, a division of Atlanta-based Focus Brands made sense. “We wanted to capture the essence of everything that they have a lot of brand equity around, which is the quality piece,” Li said.

Cinnabon and Auntie Anne’s partnered with Subway in January for that brand’s new Sidekicks snack category.

Cinnabon has a history of collaborations with other brands. In fall 2022, it teamed with Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, a division of Pasadena, Calif.-based Dine Brands Global Inc., for Cinnabon Miniswirls. In May 2022, Dallas-based TGI Fridays had a brief limited-time offer called the Mother of All Desserts, which featured Cinnabon Caramel Cheesecake and a giant Oreo cookie.

Carvel also had Cinnabon soft serve last fall, and Taco Bell earlier had Cinnabon Delights Coffee.

Wendy's, founded in 1969, has more than 7,000 restaurants worldwide.
