The Wendy’s Co. will expand its Frosty lineup with a limited-time Orange Dreamsicle offer on March 19, the company confirmed Wednesday.

The Dublin, Ohio-based burger brand, No. 3 behind Restaurant Brands International Inc.’s Burger King and McDonald’s Corp., said the Dreamsicle flavor would temporarily replace the vanilla flavor. Chocolate will remain on the menu.

“Orange Dreamsicle Frosty follows the previous seasonally-inspired successes of Wendy‘s Strawberry, Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Frosty treats,” a spokesperson said.

Wendy's introduced the Frosty platform systemwide in 2008, and the LTO flavors have been added recently.

“The Orange Dreamsicle Frosty is a unique spin on a familiar flavor, packing a spoonful of sweet orange notes combined with the classic smooth vanilla Frosty for a dreamy orange cream experience,” a company spokesperson said. “The eye-catching orange color of this delectable treat was inspired by the spring season.”

For the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, Wendy’s net income was $46.9 million, or 23 cents a share, up from $41.3 million, or 19 cents a share, in the same quarter last year. Revenues rose to $540.7 million from $536.5 million in the prior-year period.

Wendy’s same-store sales in the quarter were up 1.3% globally, with increases of 0.9% in the United States and 4.3% internationally.
