Scott Murphy's dad still calls the brand his son works for Dunkin' Donuts. And that's fine by Murphy, the newly appointed U.S. Dunkin' president. A big change for a company the size of Dunkin' takes time. And there's even more change being considered at the brand, like single-origin coffees. But consumers seem to be warming to Dunkin’ (just Dunkin’), its food and beverage options and its modern conveniences.

During the company's fourth-quarter earnings call on Thursday, Dunkin' CEO Dave Hoffman credited the brands success to "the strategic investments we made into our espresso and digital platforms in 2018. These investments are now driving top-line results and delivering a better guest experience."
