Television ratings this NFL season are down again, and that could spell bad news for Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. and other chains that bank on the league’s popularity for a portion of their business.

Ratings fell 12 percent in the opening weekend and 15 percent in the second week. For one reason or another, people are simply watching less football this year.

Worse, that’s coming off an 8-percent decline a year ago

The continued negative ratings suggest lower interest in football. That could make it more difficult for Buffalo Wild Wings to generate stronger sales in the football-heavy fourth quarter.
