Donatos has named Kevin King its new president, the company announced on Friday. King will take over the role from CEO Tom Krouse, who has served as president and CEO since 2010.

King will report to Krouse directly.

“Kevin brings a keen awareness of what creates success for franchise partners and combines that with a deep understanding of the Donatos brand and family,” Krouse said in a statement.  “We are fortunate to have him returning home to help lead us into our exciting future.”

After leaving Donatos, King held positions at JP Morgan Chase, Papa Murphy’s and Smoothie King. He served as chief development officer for the latter two brands.

“Rejoining Donatos for me is so exciting,” said King, who grew up in Columbus where Donatos is based, in a statement. “To be back with this powerful brand at this important time to continue its growth and to give more than it receives is a dream come true."

“We are thrilled to have Kevin rejoining our family,” said Jane Grote Abell, the executive chairwoman of the board and chief purpose officer at Donatos, in a statement.  “He is a perfect culture fit and we are happy he is coming back home.  Combining his level of expertise and leadership with the outstanding leadership with the strategic vision of Tom Krouse as our CEO, we have set the stage for a very bright future.”
