Jack in the Box has signed an agreement with Cedar Tree Restaurant Group to develop 37 new restaurants and operate 46 existing stores in four markets, including Nashville, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Greenville, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina.

According to a press release, the 37-unit development agreement represents the chain’s largest deal out of its 267 new franchise commitments signed since mid-2021. The agreement comes on the heels of the brand’s Q4 earnings call, where it announced a return to net unit growth for the first time in four years. Much of that growth is driven by the company’s relaunch of its franchise development program last year after a decade break. To support that program, Jack in the Box recently began offering an incentive program with multi-unit franchisees that includes financial benefits, like discounted royalty fees, to those who enter into a minimum three-unit development agreement.

In a statement, Conley said the group is looking to partner with brands that have a “proven track record of sound operations and a solid existing base while still having ample room for development.” Jack in the Box currently operates more than 2,180 restaurants across 21 states.

“Jeff and Frank are exactly the type of new franchisees that we want to join and grow Jack in the Box with us,” CEO Darin Harris said in a statement. “Their business acumen, experience with multi-unit franchising and overall knowledge of the restaurant industry will be key to the successful operations of these existing locations as well as new unit growth.”
