While 2023 was the year of the loyalty program, 2024 was the year that restaurant operators perfected the loyalty program for the modern customer.

Most major foodservice brands have launched digital loyalty programs by now, as an easy way to entice and get to know potential regular customers. This year, there was a mix of rewards and loyalty program launches, as well as revamps and makeovers from brands like Domino’s, Potbelly, and KFC.

Restaurant operators are learning that omnichannel accessibility, personalized rewards, and apps that work properly are now tablestakes for on-the-go customers, especially for younger demographics. For some operators, that might mean a loyalty makeover, and others have created an entirely new digital rewards program.

Here are eight of the biggest loyalty program launches and revamps of 2024.
