An E. coli outbreak has been linked to McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburgers or the onions served on them. The outbreak has killed at least one person in Colorado and sickened dozens of others, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.

The E. coli outbreak isn’t the only situation McDonald’s has had to navigate so far this week. On Tuesday, U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Bob Casey, and Ron Wyden sent a letter to CEO Chris Kempczinski pushing for more information about the chain’s pricing decisions as the quick-service segment continues to outpace the overall Consumer Price Index.

It’s less than two weeks until Election Day: Do you know what you’re voting for? Most Americans will be voting on more than just the president on November 5. Nine states have introduced ballot measures that restaurant operators will want to pay close attention to.

The quick-service segment has been battling a loss of traffic for over a year now, but high prices may not be the only culprit. A new report from Chartmeter shows that negative reviews about speed, accuracy, and staff and manager demeanor have increased year-over-year at QSRs.
