Onion recall, Wingstop, Taco Bell

In the wake of an E. coli outbreak impacting McDonald’s Quarter Pounders in a dozen states, supplier Taylor Farms issued a recall of yellow onions produced in its Colorado facility. The company has not found traces of E. coli, but was removing the item out of an abundance of caution.

Wingstop and the National Basketball Association have signed a deal to make the brand the official chicken partner of the NBA. The agreement marks Wingstop’s first official partnership with a major U.S. professional sports league.

Nostalgia continues: Taco Bell’s “Decades Menu,” featuring popular but discontinued items from each decade dating back to the 1960s, will be launched nationwide on Oct. 31. The lineup includes the Tostada, Green Sauce Burrito, Meximelt, Gordita Supreme, and Caramel Apple Empanada.

Red Lobster continues to rebuild its C-suite. The chain named former Smokey Bones chief marketing officer Nichole Robillard as its new CMO.
