He most recently served as CFO at Southlake, Texas-based Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, and succeeds Darin Harper at Dallas-based On The Border.

Pennison “brings a wealth of leadership experience in restaurant hospitality,” said Ward Whitworth, On The Border’s president and CEO, in a statement.

“Tom respects the importance that culture and relationships play in both our corporate environment and in the experiences we deliver our guests,” Whitworth said.

Prior to serving as CFO at Del Frisco’s, Pennington headed finance at Ruth’s Hospitality Group, parent to the Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse brand.

“I am honored to join the On The Border team,” Pennison said. “This is an amazing brand with a rich heritage of providing delicious food and a fun experience to guests.”
