Heart-shaped biscuits are being promoted across the quick-service landscape this Valentine’s Day season.

From iced Bo-Berry Biscuits at Charlotte, N.C.-based Bojangles to strawberry-studded pastries at Miami-based Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen to heart-shaped breakfast sandwiches at Franklin, Tenn.-based Hardees, shapely biscuits populate this season of love and offer an alternative to the many heart-shaped pizzas.

With nearly 800 restaurants, Bojangles is offering its Heart-Shaped Bo-Berry Biscuits Feb. 5 to Feb. 18 as individual orders or in packs of two or six for group snacking.

“With Bo-Berries baked inside and a decadent vanilla icing drizzle, the delightfully sweet biscuit pairs well with a delicious cup of Bojangles coffee,” the company said of the blueberry-oriented snack.

The item features the Popeyes biscuit with a strawberry twist and will be offered Feb. 5-Feb. 25. Prices start at $1.79 each, with price and participation varying by location. As of end of the third quarter on Sept. 27, Popeyes had 4,373 restaurants worldwide.

“To make the dessert’s return even sweeter, on Valentine’s Day, $1 from each Heart-Shaped Biscuit purchase will be directed to the Popeyes Foundation’s ‘Serving With Love’ initiative,” the company said. The Popeyes Foundation supports national and local nonprofits organizations that provide food to those who need it.

Hardee’s is bringing back its heart-shaped buttermilk breakfast biscuits through Feb. 14. The brand has more than 1,600 restaurants in the United States and 13 countries worldwide.

"At Hardee's, our food is our love language,” said Regina Schneider, senior vice president of marketing for the brand, which is a division of Franklin, Tenn.-based CKE Restaurants Holdings Inc.

“There's no better articulation of this love than our heart-shaped biscuits to celebrate Valentine's Day – a seasonal twist on our iconic breakfast items,” Schneider said. “We love seeing how this returning favorite brightens our guests' days and encourages them to spread the love with family and friends."

CKE Restaurants also owns the Carl’s Jr. brand.
