Yum Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut and The Habit Burger Grill, has named Cameron Davies to the new role of chief data officer.

Davies, below, starts July 13 and will report to Chief Digital and Technology Officer Clay Johnson. Davies will lead Yum’s data engineering and data science teams. He will also be responsible for modernizing the foundation of Yum’s data capabilities, including reliable data storage and access, monitoring and reporting, the Louisville, Ky.-based company said.

He comes to Yum from NBCUniversal, or NBCU, where he was senior vice president of corporate decision science. Before that, he worked 17 years in various roles at Disney. He founded and led the Management Science and Integration Team, which served Walt Disney Studios, Disney Interactive and Disney Consumer Products.

“Using our scale as the world’s largest restaurant company to leverage the power of data and analytics will undoubtedly create a competitive advantage for our company and unlock value within our four growth drivers,” Johnson said in a statement.
