Salt Lake City-based Beans & Brews Coffeehouse has named Doug Willmarth chief executive officer, effective immediately. Willmarth has served as president of Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes since November 2021, leading a revitalization plan to drive sales and unit count growth.
Prior, he was the chief brand officer of Mongolian Concepts Restaurant Group, fractional chief marketing officer for Restaurant Performance Marketing, CMO for Wingstop, and CMO for Rave Motion Pictures. Earlier in his career, Willmarth served as director of brand and national marketing at Pizza Hut. He also has experience at PepsiCo, Chili’s, and Oscar Mayer.
Willmarth takes over Beans & Brews as it expands, now counting more than 80 locations across four states with more than 110 additional unis in development. The company plans to grow its footprint across the United States.
"I am truly excited to join a company with such a strong legacy, distinctive product offering and loyal following," Willmarth said in a statement. "Beans & Brews has an incredible 30-year history of delivering exceptional coffee and customer experiences. I’m thrilled to be part of the next phase of its growth journey. My goal is to build the brand and bring the elevated product and connection of Beans & Brews to more communities across the country."
Willmarth said his collaborative leadership philosophy stems from his nine years of service as a Naval officer and aviator.
"I believe in building a brand that appeals to consumers and is a compelling business opportunity for franchisees,” he said. "Our key to long-term success is giving franchise owners the tools and support they need to succeed while continuing to grow a brand that customers genuinely love."
