P.F. Chang’s is adding fried chicken to its menu for the first time in its 31-year history. The company announced today that its new The Golden Feast menu includes Korean Fried Chicken in bone-in and boneless options, as well as Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, paired with a curated sauce menu.

The menu is inspired by South Korea’s celebration of the season’s first snowfall. According to the company, the first snowfall marks a cultural moment that symbolizes renewal, romance, and connection, and often includes celebrations with fried chicken and champagne. The Golden Feast offerings include:

  • Korean Fried Chicken, with a lightly coated dry-rub five spice seasoning or sweet and spicy Korean sauce. Available in bone-in (3-piece or 6-piece) and boneless (4-piece or 5-piece for one, or 8-piece or 10-piece sharable)

  • Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, lightly battered boneless chicken thighs tossed with dry-rub five spice seasoning, roasted guajillo chile, and basil leaves.

The Golden Feast is also accompanied by fresh pickled cucumbers and red onions, and a curated sauce flights that include Sweet Soy Glaze, Dynamite, Hot Honey, and Chili Crisp.

“As we unveil our new fried chicken menu, we’re thrilled to honor this timeless South Korean tradition and share a sense of celebration with our guests,” senior vice president of brand and experience Candice Barnett said in a statement. “By embracing these traditions, we’re not only expanding our culinary offerings, but also deepening the experience of global culture and flavors that P.F. Chang’s is known for.”

The Korean Fried Chicken category, and Korean cuisine in general, is on a significant growth trajectory of late, driven by the expansion of South Korean culture, such as K-Pop music and mukbang videos on TikTok. Concepts like bb.q Chicken, Bonchon, KPOT Korean BBQ and Hot Pot, and Gen Korean BBQ, have forged much of the category’s growth in the U.S.

P.F. Chang’s finished 2023 with 225 domestic locations, according to Technomic data. The new Golden Feast menu is available at all of its locations nationwide excluding airports and Puerto Rico.
