Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. has named Santiago Abraham as chief information officer, the company announced Tuesday.

Abraham, who most recently was vice president for informational technology strategy, source and vendor management at Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., will be responsible for technology policies, processes and practices at the Minneapolis-based casual-dining chain.

His appointment will take effect on Dec. 5, the company said.

Sally Smith, Buffalo Wild Wings president and CEO, said Abraham’s “extensive technology expertise and leadership experience will help us to use technology as a marketing and revenue generation tool, as well as an efficiency tool to help reduce operating costs.”

At Royal Caribbean, Abraham spearheaded efforts to optimize revenue systems at the company, including through the reservations system.

“I am delighted to join Buffalo Wild Wings and utilize my technology expertise to help the company develop an enterprise-wide technology strategy that contributes to its growth and profitability,” Abraham said in a statement.

Prior to Royal Caribbean, Abraham worked with Accenture Ltd and such clients as Cendant Corp., Carnival Corp., Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and US Freightways.

Buffalo Wild Wings has more than 1,200 locations worldwide
