Hurricane Grill & Wings has named industry veteran William Richardson chief operating officer, the company said this week.

Richardson succeeds Mark Snyder in the position, the West Palm Beach, Fla.-based casual-dining operator said.

“William’s experience paired with his strategic thinking and proven track record make him the right person to execute Hurricane Grill & Wings operational goals and priorities,” John Metz, Hurricane Grill chairman and CEO, said in a statement.

Richardson has worked in operations leadership roles at such brands as McAlister’s Deli, TGI Fridays, Abuelo’s and Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

In the past two years, Hurricane Grill & Wings has revamped its menu, adding a build-a-burger section and other customizable options, and opened its first international location in Milan. The company franchises two models: a “Legacy Pub” model, at 2,000 square feet, and a “Grill” model, at 4,000 square feet.

“It is a great honor to join the Hurricane Grill & Wings executive team at such a pivotal time of growth and achievement,” Richardson said.

Hurricane Grill & Wings, founded in 1995 in Fort Pierce, Fla., has 73 restaurants in 15 states and Italy.
