The Krystal Co. has appointed Rodney Lee as its new chief financial officer, the company said Wednesday.

Lee was formerly CFO at the Italian fast-casual chain Fazoli’s, and spent years as CFO and chief operating officer of a large Pizza Hut franchisee. He has 25 years of experience in the quick-service segment.

“We are very fortunate to be able to bring someone of Rodney’s caliber to our executive leadership team,” Krystal CEO Omar Janjua said in a statement. “I’ve personally known and worked with Rodney in the past, and I’ve seen firsthand his ability to make a tremendous impact on business results through people.”

Lee helped guide Fazoli’s to its most profitable year in company history, as well as seven straight years of positive same-store sales.

He takes the financial helm at Atlanta-based Krystal, which has more than 350 restaurants in 11 states and was founded in 1932.

“I look forward to contributing to a brand with a strong market presence and a loyal, growing audience,” Lee said in a statement. “My top priority is ensuring the continued success and longevity of this iconic, Southern brand.”
