My Fit Foods LLC has named industry veteran Michael Lubitz its first chief financial officer, the company said Monday.

Lubitz most recently was chief financial officer at Hurricane AMT LLC, the West Palm Beach, Fla.-based parent of the 65-unit Hurricane Grill & Wings concept and franchisee of Denny’s Restaurants.

“Mike's breadth and depth of experience make him well-suited to join our leadership team as we strengthen our systems and position our company for meaningful growth,” David Goronkin, who was named CEO of Austin, Texas-based My Fit Foods in June 2014, said in a statement.

Prior to Hurricane AMT, Lubitz served as chief financial officer for Fairfield, N.J.-based ADF Companies, which franchises KFC, Pizza Hut and WingStreet.

Earlier, Lubitz served as vice president of finance for New World Restaurant Group, which in 2007 became the Einstein Noah Restaurant Group Inc.

"We have been working diligently to assemble an experienced leadership team that can guide My Fit Foods into the next phase of growth,” Goronkin said, citing recent hires from Caribou Coffee, Garden Fresh Restaurants, Real Mex Restaurants, Starbucks and Zoe's Kitchen. “Mr. Lubitz is a welcome addition to the team.”

My Fit Foods offers healthful, portion-controlled, ready-to-eat meals at more than 50 locations in five states. The company received a minority investment in January 2013 from private-equity firm TSG Consumer Partners LLC.
