Yum! Brands Inc. has appointed David Russell as interim chief financial officer, effective Feb. 19, the company said this week.

Russell replaces Pat Grismer, who said in December that he would resign as CFO. Russell will serve as CFO until a permanent successor is named.

Russell is currently vice president, finance and corporate controller of Louisville, Ky.-based Yum. He was named corporate controller in 2011, and his title was expanded to include vice president, finance in 2012.

Yum operates the KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut chains, which have more than 42,000 locations combined worldwide.
