Buffalo Wild Wings to give away boneless wings in promotion of the film Jackpot! starring John Cena and Awkwafina

The casual-dining restaurant chain is also giving away $5,000 in gift cards to one winner

Buffalo Wild Wings is celebrating the release of the film Jackpot! on Prime Video on Aug. 15 with a boneless wing giveaway, as well as a lottery to win $5,000 in gift cards to the chain.

Guests who place an order of at least $15 through the website or app of Buffalo Wild Wings Go, the sports-bar chain’s fast-casual spinoff and takeout and delivery service, and use the promo code GOBONELESS will receive 10 free boneless wings in a flavor of their choice. Additionally, if they visit thejackpotjackpot.com, they can enter to win the $5,000 prize, which Buffalo Wild Wings calculated as 10 years’ worth of free wings.

The giveaway is inspired by the plot of the film, directed by Paul Feig and starring John Cena and Awkwafina, in which a multibillion dollar “Grand Lottery” is established in the near future in California. The catch is that anyone who kills the winner before sundown can legally claim the jackpot.

Katie Kim, played by Awkwafina, finds herself in possession of the ticket and Noel Cassidy, played by John Cena, is bound to protect her, according to a synopsis provided by Buffalo Wild Wings, and presumably action and hilarity ensue, including confrontations with Cassidy’s rival, Louis Lewis, played by Simu Liu.

The screenplay was written by Rob Yescombe.

The timing of the giveaway is clearly meant to drive home the idea that wings are a perfect accompaniment to movie night at home, as well as their more frequent association with football and other televised sports.

Buffalo Wild Wings established its “Go” concept in 2020 and, in addition to opening dozens of the smaller locations with walkup counters and digital menu boards, has established the brand as the takeout and delivery platform for its 1,298 full-service locations.

The chain is part of Atlanta-based Inspire Brands, which also is the parent of Arby’s, Sonic Drive-in, Jimmy John’s, Dunkin’, and Baskin-Robbins.
