Since its inception by founders John Baur and Mark Summers in 1995, many landlubbers have embraced Talk Like a Pirate Day by donning nautical garb and spouting pirate slang every Sept. 19. Restaurants give a hearty “Yo-ho-ho” to the fun every year, dishing out food and drink specials on this buccaneering holiday.
