CEO changes, Outback and Carrabba’s, Chipotle

Why are so many restaurant CEOs changing jobs? It’s a clear sign of industry volatility. Weak sales and profitability concerns have put pressure on industry executives to boost performance.

Some Outback and Carrabba’s units have been sold. Four Corners Property Trust, a company that invests in retail properties, has acquired 19 Bloomin’ Brands restaurants in 10 states for $66.4 million, the company said Tuesday.

Chipotle is testing a new swicy protein option: Chipotle Honey Chicken. The new offering, which follows the popular trend of mixing sweet and spicy flavors, is in 80 restaurants in Nashville, Tenn., and Sacramento, California in a test as a limited-time offer.

Pizza Hut’s latest marketing gimmick solves a common problem: It’s moving day and you don’t have a spot in the new place yet to eat a meal. The pizza chain is out with a Moving Box Table to the rescue.
